Evil Campaign (Greyhawk)
From The Summoners
The Greyhawk Evil Game was a brief campaign in 2003 run by Jeff that although technically a "failure" for the villainous characters involved, it did set the stage for future campaigns such as the Pyronian Campaign. Its events are considered canonical to Jeff's conception of the multiverse that stretches across multiple campaigns.
The game was largely a 3.0 endeavor, with characters all being Evil save for one mercenary that moved into the Pyronian realm as akey plot point.
Overview
The party assembles at the behest of a great reward offered by a powerful Blighter, evil Druid named Helicinarsus.
- Sleethor
- Urgrosh the Sly
- Jaka Wilder
- OPEN Modee character
He informs the party that there is a forgotten temple surrounded by barren earth that requires great sacrifices to activate its powers. The rewards promised stretch into hundreds of thousands in gold, as wlel as power and magical items. Only an aspiring evil Lizardman druid named Sleethor is in on the greater potential implications.
After run-ins with local authorities in the Geoff that were thwarted with guile and murderous villainy, they find evidence for the temple they seek.
Along the way they rape and slay a cleric of Mhyrris, which they use as barter for entry into the temple.
They fight current keepers, which consist of Ogres and Hobgoblins in large quantities who at first refuse to submit. Some are later pressed into slavery, but the majority of innocents are slain ritualistically to fuel the forgotten temples latent power. Only Jaka balks at the horrific behavior of his allies, although he does revel in his newfound wealth.
Meanwhile, a group of good adventurers arrives organized by a Bronze Dragon named Valdex arrive to thwart them. Some evil characters are killed, and Jaka attempts to flee. He is accosted, and enlisted to help stop the bad juju at all costs. They believe they have done so in the nick of time, but unbeknownst to them, an opening for Klatavax is created.
Sleethor escapes, with a delicious pile of treasure and replete with success and evils commited.
