The Mortality Campaign
From The Summoners
The Mortality Campaign is the new campaign began in Autumn of 2007 by Jeff. Initial plans were to render the game electronic, possibly via Fantasy Battlegrounds. However, the advent of 4th edition less than a year away fromthe start, it will have Jeff run it more conventionally with modified 3.5 d20 rules.
There are numerous house rules mostly regarding "cherry picking" of ideas from priors and various books. These serve to add flavor to the mix
Overview
The coy title of the "The Mortality Campaign" is so dubbed due the current state of affairs on the world of Rayeta. Indeed, it differs from many conventional gaming worlds in that it is bereft of clerics or healing magic other than a few left over sources derived greater ages past. There is a vibrant, but alas, largely intractable history of prior great ages. A disasterous Age of Ice and other horrors befell the world leaving it wrought with tremendous havoc and flux to all denizens.
Emergence from this state of affairs has been recent and tentative. Elemental powers that are primal have waned, but much still terrorizes and manipulates much of the conventional world despite the resurgence.
The principal action begins on the continent and islands close to Drechyus - This is the largest known landmass on the world, and the one with the most relevant and robust known history even to the Forest elves. Glaciers and Cursed Ice diminish to reveal a ripe world of adventure and mystery!
Most intriguing of late, is the arrival of a strange traveler from across the sea found by a group of adventurers, a man that can potentially spark immense changes but for now seems content to scribble away at his journal...
